Uganda Tours: Gorillas and Beyond in 2024

Uganda has a lot of tours (activities) that attract visitors or tourists. It includes gorilla tours, chimpanzee tours, boat cruise tours, game drives tours, Cultural experiences among others.
Here is a sample of my experience about a tour in Uganda which was based on visiting gorillas though I went more and engaged in other tour experiences. I enjoyed the tour together with the help of Nature Adventure Africa Safaris. Nature Adventure Africa Safaris helped me in the booking permits, transportation and accommodation.
Upon my arrival at Entebbe International Airport, I was picked by my driver who dropped to Protea Hotel Entebbe for lunch. After lunch I went to the balcony where I spent some good hours viewing the beautiful view of Lake Victoria. I also visited the botanical gardens in Entebbe for leisure. I still had my dinner and overnight stay at Protea Hotel Entebbe.
On my second day after having breakfast at the hotel, I met my driver and embarked on my journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. I had a stopover at Equator for some photography and later headed to Mbarara for a lunch enroute. Since it was quit a long journey, on the arrival I just checked-in at Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp to have evening leisure as I was waiting for dinner before sleeping.
My third day was a day for gorilla trekking. I had my breakfast and then headed to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on a gorilla trekking adventure. After the briefing, we were led by a certain experienced guide into the jungle to start searching for the gorillas.
The trek took about 4-5 hours but before coming up close to the gorilla family allocated to us, we came across various primates, mammals and bird species. After finding the gorillas, we were given 1 hour to watch these giants as the perform their day-to-day daily activities. We were also allowed to take some pictures though they advised us to use non flash lights cameras. Later returned to my booked accommodation for lunch and relaxation as well as waiting for dinner.
I started my fourth day with a Batwa cultural experience. The experience started with a guided nature walk in the forest where the Batwa people used to live and during this cultural experience, we were accompanied by Batwa guides who showed us how they used to hunt small animals for food, their gathering skills, demonstrate how they used to make beer out of bananas. After the nature walk, I returned back to the accommodation for lunch. After lunch, I went for a canoeing at Lake mutanda where I enjoyed viewing great views of terraced and verdant highlands in all directions.
On my fifth day I was transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park with entrance through the Ishasha sector to spot the rare tree climbing lions. I had my enroute lunch in Ishasha wilderness camp. After lunch I proceeded to Mweya Safari lodge where I had my dinner and overnight stay.
My following day (sixth day) I started it with a game drive in the kasenyi plains and I was able to spot some wildlife animals such as lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopard among others. I returned to the lodge for lunch and relaxation as I was preparing for the afternoon activity. In the afternoon after lunch, I went for chimpanzee trekking experience in the Kyambura Gorge. The trekking started with briefing later we started to search for these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. On finding these primates, we given only one to watch them in their habitat plus taking some photography. Later returned to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
On my last day, I again had an enroute tour to the Ishasha sector to see the rare tree climbing lions, I had some snacks and later embarked on my journey back to Kampala to catch up with my late evening flight back home and that was the end of my 7 days tour in Uganda. Nature Adventure Africa Safaris thanks for treating me beyond my expectations. Hope to travel with you on my next trip.
