The lounge has some very comfy chairs and sofas around a chunky wooden coffee table, as well as animal prints on the walls, and a selection of books for guests to enjoy including delicious meals at the homely mess tent.
Wilderness Usawa Serengeti is a luxury safari camp that follows the path of the great migration. It offers six tented suites with beautifully appointed rooms, with comfy beds, an indoor shower, a double-basin vanity unit, and a separate toilet. There’s a writing desk in true Out of Africa style, as well as charging points for all your photographic needs. Other features include Wi-Fi, an electronic safe, a complimentary tea-and-coffee station, and a yoga mat for personal exercise.
Indulge in a lovely main tent, with a comfortable lounge, dining area, and bar, alongside a small research library and a spotting scope. There’s the obligatory fire pit and seating area outside for sun downers and safari tales before supper. The food is superb, truly as good as it gets for a mobile tented outfit like this. Dining is usually communal and beneath the stars, but private dining is also possible on request most especially when you are with your partner.
Kichaka is located in an untouched and remote area on the eastern side of Ruaha National Park. Three suites providing all the comforts you could desire. Each is constructed using natural canvas with a thatched dome roof. The bedrooms are open during the day so you can enjoy the views and breeze, but closed in the evening.
Inside, you’ll find a comfy double bed or twin beds, bedside tables and lighting, and ample storage furniture. The bathroom adjoins the bedroom and features a bath and an outdoor hot shower complete with views over the Ruaha river. On the other side of the bedroom is a personal plunge pool and a viewing deck.
Its communal areas are made up of three sections. First, there’s a lounge area with well-cushioned sofas, where you can relax with a cup of tea and a beautiful view. A central swimming pool and ‘Star-Bar’ make up the centre of camp, these are new additions and are wonderful places to spend your time between safari activities.
There is also a dining room for enjoying the high-quality meals on offer here. Breakfast, enjoyed before the first activity of the day, consists of cereals, fruit, toast, and even a full English if required! Lunch is often provided in the bush, cooked over a gas stove.
Lamai Serengeti consists of 12 rooms, split into two properties. Main Lodge having eight rooms and Private Lodge, booked on an exclusive basis, having just four. Two of the Main Lodge rooms are suitable for family use.
All rooms are open-fronted, offering uninterrupted views over the Serengeti’s sprawling plains! Each occupies a timber-and-thatch structure that’s nicely nestled into the Kogakuria Kopjes and positioned with maximum privacy in mind. With every standard room, a wooden door leads into the spacious bedroom.
You’ll find a double bed with mosquito nets, bedside tables and lighting, a writing desk and chair, lots of snug rugs, and a day bed too. The bedroom flows out onto the deck, which is set with a small table and a couple of chairs. Back in the room, another wooden door opens into the washroom, which contains flush toilet, twin washbasins, step-up shower, and a useful storage unit.
The two sets of communal facilities include a lounge and a dining area housed in a concrete-and-wood building featuring twig-strewn roofs and white-washed walls. These buildings are accessed from the guest rooms along walkways amongst the Kopjes.
The walkways include occasionally steep steps, especially up to Main Lodge, which has a higher position. But the journey is worth the exertion, for the breathtaking views! And both lounges are very comfortable, with a lot of well-cushioned seating. Dining areas include a long table for communal meals, with individual tables available too.
Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge with 15 suites, positioned at varying distances from the communal facilities. The suites are spaced well apart and connected to the main lodge along neat pathways. A few steps lead up to a wooden door, which opens into the bedroom and lounge area.
you’ll enjoy a king-size bed or twin beds with mosquito nets, bedside tables and lighting, end-of-bed seating, a sofa, a coffee table, and a floor lamp. There are a number of rugs too, and some interesting wall artwork. Additional amenities include a tea-and-coffee station and a mini-bar. The en-suite washroom, accessed from the bedroom, contains a flush toilet, twin washbasins within a large vanity unit, a walk-in shower, shelves, hanging space, and a bathtub with amazing views of the Serengeti savanna!
Feel comfortable with the lounge and bar as well as the dining room not forgetting the reception and the gift shop. These are connected along raised wooden walkways. In the lounge/bar tent, comfortable chairs and sofas are set out around coffee tables or next to cozy fireplaces. Fans and chic chandeliers are positioned overhead, and shelves hold a selection of books and games. The bar provides good space in which to get to know your fellow travelers while enjoying a few drinks.
Lemala Nanyukie with 15 guest tents, all spaced well apart from each other for ample privacy. A few steps lead up onto a deck, which boasts a couple of sun lounges and a private plunge pool! Inside, there is a bedroom, with en-suite facilities and lounge either side. The bedroom contains a double bed, a dressing table, wardrobes, and luggage storage units.
The en-suite facilities comprise separate flush toilet, twin washbasins, shower, and bathtub. There’s an outdoor bathtub too, forming part of the private deck. The lounge features comfy seating and a butler’s hatch!
It is in a region known for its high numbers of bit cats, as well as for playing host to the Great Migration between November and January.
Nasikia Mobile Migration Camp with twelve guest tents can be rigged up, with a honeymoon suite positioned at a distance from the other accommodation. All tents are Meru style with an outer layer of canvas extending over the inner layer to form a shady veranda.

Plantation Lodge is a stylish, luxury option in a wonderful Ngorongoro area. It has 15 standard rooms, 7 suites, 1 family unit and 1 family suite, also known as the garden house. All are dotted about the grounds.
All rooms and suites are individually decorated and adorned with its own name, such as Bamboo, Blue Mountain, and Cassia. The standard room option is pleasantly spacious, featuring a comfy king-size bed or twin beds with mosquito nets, a seating area with cozy fireplace, a tea-and-coffee station, and well-appointed en-suite facilities.
Some of these rooms have a private veranda too. The family unit is made up of two interconnecting standard rooms, while the family suite comprises four rooms in addition to a lounge and dining room. Each suite offers more floor space than the standard room, and a more secluded location too.
The communal lounge, dining rooms, and bar at The Plantation Lodge are found in the property’s farmhouse, which is approached from the guest suites and rooms along well-kept stone paths through the gardens.
